NCA launches Future Leadership Program

Members of NCA’s Young Professionals Network are invited to apply for the 2016 class of the YPN Future Leadership Program. Info and application are available at this link. “A key element of NCA’s mission is to advance the confectionery industry, and the Future Leadership Program achieves that,” says NCA President and CEO John H. Downs, Jr. “This program will identify emerging young talent in our industry and facilitate an environment where they can learn from respected and experienced leaders within their professions.”

The year-long initiative will provide support, education, access and opportunity to five industry members 40 years or younger, according to the Association. This includes attendance at NCA’s State of the Industry Conference, Sweets & Snacks Expo and Washington Forum, which all offer development opportunities through education and networking.

In addition, those selected for the program will receive a formal mentorship with a well-respected industry professional selected from the YPN committee.

Michael Flynn, co-chair of the YPN and director of marketing for Stribbons, Inc., says: “The Future Leadership Program is a unique opportunity for emerging leaders to learn and network from the most respected and influential leaders within the confectionery industry. The YPN committee is proud to launch a program that has the potential to make a significant impact on the careers of young professionals in our industry.”

Applications for the program are available at candyusa.com and will be accepted until October 2. Those selected will be notified in December.
